ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

NORTH AMERICAN VIKING 28 ASSOCIATION

MINUTES

The meeting was held on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Toronto Hydroplane & Sailing Club (THSC) in Toronto.

1. The meeting was called to order at 8:10 PM.

2. Review of minutes from last meeting – Steve Cutting proposed a motion to accept the minutes of the previous meeting, dated March 6, 2009. This was seconded by Bob Hickson, motion carried.

3. Treasurer’s Report – Elaine Collis for Carolyn Eaton.

The association currently has a balance of $304.29.

At the meeting, Elaine collected yearly dues ($20.00) from: Whiteout, Blithe Spirit, Tsunami II, Berserk, Windchaser, Saga, Keldy, Eclipse and Airborne II.

Introductions were made around the table at this point.

4. Review of Regatta Venues:

James Bond made a motion to hold a regatta (i.e. NA Championship) at THSC on July 10 and 11, 2010, seconded by Andrew Sensicle. Motion carried.

Andrew Sensicle made a motion to approach Picton to hold the Ram’s Horn in 2010, seconded by Roger Jubinville. Motion carried.

Discussion followed regarding holding fewer regattas, focusing on building attendance, the whitesail/cruising fleet and possibility of a middle distance race. There was no consensus reached but members are encouraged to use the Open Forum on the website for further discussion.

Rick Lalonde made a motion to hold the medium distance race with THSC’s Dufferin Bell Race on July 31^st. The Club also has a Caribbean Night scheduled for that evening. Roger Jubinville seconded the motion.

Roger Jubinville made a motion to use our funds to purchase “class flags” to be handed out when registering at any regatta. John Latour and Roger Jubinville will check with Whitby Yacht Club (WYC) to provide information on price and the possibility of piggy-backing on their flag purchases. James Bond seconded the motion. Motion carried.

5. Election of Officers:

The Officers were acclaimed as follows:

President: Steve Cutting (Blithe Spirit)

Vice President: James Bond (Blithe Spirit)

Secretary/Treasurer: Carolyn Eaton (Eclipse)

Webmaster: Andrew Sensicle (Berserk)

6. Adjournment:

Roger Jubinville made a motion to adjourn which was seconded by Rick Lalonde.
